Accountability/Validations
In an effort to increase the Kansas State Assessment Test results, more than 20 Wichita middle and high schools participated in the L2Learn™MI-2000 program over a 2 year period. Comprehensive validation studies were conducted to determine the outcome of the program. At the outset, 26 cognitive skills were assessed but only 12 of those skills were found to be critical to school performance and performance on the Kansas State Assessment Tests.

Using very large samples, the L2Learn™ program had a very positive effect on academic performance, (math, language skills, and social science), self-esteem, attendance and attitude toward school. For example, 87% of the students in Wichita that were functioning at the bottom 30th percentile of the performance curve made significant improvements in all aspects of academic performance. Prior to L2Learn™ program, these students were falling behind by approximately 30% each year. After completing six to eight months of the L2Learn™ program, these same students advanced a full academic year in Math and Language skills. In addition, half of this group advanced an additional year in Math, Language Skills or both. Many of these students were in Alternative schools.
